African Baobab is a large thick-stemmed deciduous tree, about 10–40 metres high and about 6 metres in diameter. The trunk and branches have a brownish-rose colored hue. The tree is wide at the base and grows to a narrow point towards the top of the tree. Leaves are palmately lobed with up to 5 lobes per leaf. They are 5 to 10 centimeters long and 1.5 to 2.5 centimeters wide and the leaf margin is entire.

Growing from seeds:
It is easily grown from seed.
First of all, immerse the seeds in hot water for about 5 hours. Sow the seeds in a well-drained medium, about 1cm deep. Take care not to overwater the seedlings. Keep in warm situation of about 25°C. Germination usually occurs in about 4 weeks but can even take longer
