7 Pot Congo SR Gigantic Red Chilli Pepper seeds
The 7 Pot Congo SR Gigantic Red is firmly ensconced within the variety of peppers that are part of the Capsicum chinense species. The origins of the 7 Pot Congo SR Gigantic Red can be traced to Trinidad. It is also from this very Island that the 7 Pot strain of peppers were shared with the world (Especially countries in the Americas). The pods belonging to this pepper are large reaching lengths of up to 7 cm and a width of about 4 cm. Unripe pods are green but transform into a bright red once the ripening process sets in.
The big size of the pods coupled with the high yields of the plant makes 7 Pot Congo SR a very productive plant to cultivate. The unique aroma that accompanies many peppers is absent in 7 Pot Congo SR which only has a fruity flavour. This pepper, however, makes up for the absence through its sheer size and searing heat (800,000 to one million Scoville heat units) which make it perfect for making hot sauces. One can also use the pepper to heat up pickles as well as a variety of meats especially pork. The 7 Pot Congo SR takes between 90 and 100 days before the plant is mature and the pods are ready to be harvested.
