Bhut Jolokia Peach Chilli Pepper seeds

Bhut Jolokia Peach is a hybrid between two different species of plants that include Capsicum Chinense and Capsicum Frutescens. This interspecific hybrid pepper also goes by the name of Ghost Chilli, Naga Jolokia, Red Naga, Ghost Pepper, Ghost Jolokia and U-Morok. Bhut Jolokia finds its origins in the Indian States of Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachai Pradesh and Assam where it is extensively cultivated. Bhut Jolokia Peach is one of the many variants of Bhut Jolokia and can be easily distinguished from others due to the peach colour of its ripe fruit. The change in colour of the fruits from their original green colour occasioned by ripening only happens once the tree has reached maturity.

The one major distinguishing factor about this particular chili is how hot it is. According to the Guinness World Book of Records, Bhut Jolokia was considered the hottest chilli pepper in the world between 2007 and 2011 registering a high of one million Scoville units. This very unique chili is used as a spice in many foods including chutney, pork and pickles. Bhut Jolokia Peach plants can reach a maximum height of 70cm and deliver fruits after a waiting period that lasts between 140 to 172 days. One can expect a yield of over 200 peppers per plant in a single growth cycle.
