The credit for the creation of this cultivar goes to a farmer called Jay who is a resident of Pennsylvania in the United States. Given Jays Peach Ghost Scorpion hasn’t been in the market for too long, its cultivation is mostly concentrated in the United States, but this might change over time. The pods are peach in colour and have a distinctive bumpy surface and a tail that can be similarly seen in ghost peppers. Jays Peach Ghost Scorpion is a hybrid between Bhut Jolokia and the Trinidad Scorpion and by far the only stable one. Given how hot the two peppers are, it was only inevitable that the hybrid would be remarkably hot as well. The flavour is smoky and floral with a bit of sweetness that’s accompanied by a wave of searing heat that can reach highs of 800,000 Scoville heat units. Such attributes make this pepper a necessary ingredient when spicing up meats and making hot sauces. Given all the right weather and soil conditions one should expect a productive yield from this cultivar. The waiting period before the harvest could last somewhere between 100 and 120 days.
