Details

Sequoiadendron giganteum is also called giant sequoia, giant redwood, Sierra redwood, Sierran redwood, or Wellingtonia.

Giant sequoias are the world's largest single trees by volume. Giant sequoias grow to an average height of 50–85 m and 6–8 m in diameter. Record trees have been measured to be about 95m in height and over 17 m  in diameter. The oldest known giant sequoia is 3,500 years old.

Growing from seed:

let seeds soak with water for about 24 hours, then put them, together with moist soil mixed with sand, into a small plastic bag/container, close it and store in the fridge for about 4 weeks. Afterwards just sow about 3mm deep and keep at a temperature of about 20°C until germination starts. Germinationrate is about 50%
