Carribean Red Habanero Chili Pepper seeds

The Caribbean Red Habanero, also known simply as ‘Caribbean Red,’ is a cultivar of the Capsicum chinense species and the family Solanaceae. Unlike the many varieties of Habanero that have their origins in the Amazon, the Caribbean Habanero has its origins in Mexico. That fact, however, hasn’t stopped it from being popular in South American nations like Chile and Bolivia as well as North American ones like the United States. The pods of Caribbean Red have wrinkly skin and a characteristic bell shape. The pods are roughly 1.5 inches in length and width and have red skin when ripe. Caribbean Red plants have multi-coloured flowers which makes them ornamental in addition to being providers of a very potent pepper. One can expect a citrusy sweetness coupled with a smoky flavour from this variety of pepper. The rich sweetness coupled with the heat (300,000 to 445,000 Scoville heat units) make for a very aggregable culinary experience. Caribbean Red can be used to make a variety of hot sauces and salsas or as an additive to marinades and dressings. Warm weather favours the growth of the Caribbean Red Habanero by boosting plant growth and flowering. Thus, any place with plenty of sunshine and fertile slightly acidic soils would be perfect. Each plant matures after 120 days and can produce between 40 and 60 pods every six months.
